TouchPoint Application is an application and database server backup and recovery tool.
Agentless Backup - No need to install client software!
TouchPoint is agentless software, meaning that once loaded onto a master PC or server - the TP-System - there is no need to load software on to any other machine.
The TP-System will automatically find and backup the servers and application information on the backup schedule. The TP-System means that backup schedules are easy to manage, requiring little time to be spent on them following the initial setup.
TouchPoint stores all backup information locally, on a server known as the TPLS. This means that both backups and restores can be done at network speed, rather than internet speed. For restoring applications that have failed, this is ideal - there is no need to go hunting through a pile of tapes for vital data that may not have been backed up to begin with. Backups are then transferred offsite to Smartways secure data centre, where it is held on disk and is available for instant restore online.
TouchPoint Application offers a great reduction in the amount of time required to manage backup schedules and data restoration, and also keeping disk and tape backups running smoothly. There is no need for backups to be started manually or for tapes or disks to be changed on a regular basis because they have come to the end of their life, because there are no tapes or disks involved.
Restores are also easier with TouchPoint than other backup methods - the data is indexed in a simple tree structure, which makes finding individual files or folders effortless.
TouchPoint offers a 3:1 ratio on the compression of data sent from the TPLS to Smartways data centre. This offers a great cost saving, as data can often jump price brackets.*
